Planting tips
Ideal for containers, raised beds, and small garden spaces. Self-fertile but produces more fruit with a companion variety nearby. Mulch with pine bark to maintain soil acidity. Prune lightly after fruiting. One of the most ornamental blueberry varieties, with attractive foliage year-round.
Troubleshooting
Yellowing leaves
Iron chlorosis from high soil pH. Lower pH with sulfur amendments and use acid-forming fertilizer.
Wilting in heat
Containers dry out quickly in Florida summers. Water more frequently and move to a spot with afternoon shade.
Poor fruit set
Self-fertile but benefits from cross-pollination. Add a second compatible variety for improved yields.
Pet safety
Blueberries are non-toxic to pets and are generally safe if consumed in small quantities.
